So I had a pretty bad crash in Glamis this past weekend. It's the first time I have ever rolled in any kind of vehical. First off, I had the opportunity to go past Joey’s camp and meet him and offroadswapmeet. Nice to meet you guys by the way! I didn’t stay long because they were getting their camp set up and I wanted to give them there space. Anyway, a couple hours after meeting them I had pretty gnarly crash with my rzr s. I was going wide open through the valley leaving hill 3 and came into a slight left hander when I got up on the passenger side two wheels and started bicycling. I almost had it corrected but two wheeled it into a plant which had a mound of dirt around it causing me to flip from my passenger side two wheels onto the front driver side roof. I planted the cage into the ground probably at around 30 mph and continued to do two summersaults end over end into a huge bush resting on the driver side of the car. When the dust settled I found that I had no light bar left and the driver side light housing had broken out. That’s the small stuff. Upon further inspection I found that the cage had some major damage. The driver side front cage had bent back 2 inches and down about 1 inch. From the cage begin pushed back it cracked the weld on the top of the B pillar. The driver side door has been pushed back and cracked some welds. Pretty much the cage is junk and needs to be replaced. Last but not least the passenger side rear axle looks like a rainbow.
Out of all of this I can say, thank God that I had the safety equipment in my car that I did. The cage did its job to keep my friend and myself safe and the master craft 5 point seat belts did the job of holding us in our place. Without the safety equipment I don’t think we would have walked away from this crash. I have some pictures of the damage. They don’t do justice to how violent of a crash this really was. They say there are two kinds of drivers, those that have crashed and those who have yet to crash. When you do, I hope you have the safety equipment to save yourself from a lot of pain. I know that from now on I will be wearing helmets in my sxs as well.
I added some pictures of the rzr after the crash.
