Australian Safari 2012

This is the first year in the running of the Australian Safari 5 day enduro (Started in the 80's) that SXS's have been allowed to compete.

Its a big step its one of the worlds longest enduro rally's, is one of the pre-qualification or nomination for qualification for the Dakar and one of two big desert rally's in Australia.

The second of those, the Finke Desert race is a two part sprint over two days. Sprint out one day sprint home the next.

Anyway it comes at a great time of the year in Australia weather wise, a quiet time desert racing wise in Nth America and a perfect event now for the hard competitors of SXS to pull their collective out, grab a container and come down and enjoy one of the world premiere desert/off and on road events.

First one to do it doesn't just get bragging rights they get to needle everyone for a whole year about how it was the time of their life and they can tick one off the bucket list.

So the Australasian Safari has been run and one for another year and has got to be considered one of the premium warm-up events for Dakar coming up shortly, the tracks not quite so hard its a chance to tighten the crews of your pits operations etc.

Anyway there was massively more footage of the race and racers this year and so get across and have a look at what makes safari the event to be out there in!!
