Did you know I finished the Baja 500 in 4th in my RZR XP1000

and it Does not have Long Travel it has LSR Stock Replacement Heavy Duty A-Arms and Trailing Arms
it does have Fox Shocks
Stock Steering Rack with Heavy Duty Tie Rods
Heavy Duty Rear Radius Rods
Stock lower frame with a few weld in suspension mounting gussets
Stock Radiator, Fan and cooling system in stock Locations
Heavy Duty Radiator support Plate
Stock Transmission
Stock Motor and ECU
Stock Clutch including springs and weights, Stock Belt and a Heavy Duty Clutch Spider
Stock Brakes, Spindles, and Rotors
Stock Motor Mounts
Stock Exhaust
Front stock CVs and Axles
Stock Rear CVs with replacement Axles
Aftermarket Larger Donaldson air filter and air filter canister to handle more dust without having to do a filter change

Johnny and I have very similar setups except I did run the Lonestar Long Travel kit.... Other than that mine is basically stock besides the safety rules
 
Johnny & Brandon can you give honest estimates on what you have into your Cars as they raced in Baja?

The reason I asked is price of these UTV's came up in a heated discussion on RDC and several were saying in order to be competitive your going to spend way more then building or buying a top of the line 1600 car.
 
True, but how many 1600 cars attract the type of corporate sponsorship this class has attracted. Studies have shown that the UTV market is the fastest growing segment in the off road industry. People can relate to the UTV a lot easier than a 1600 car.

We have all been very fortunate to have support from some great companies, Polaris, Can Am, Monster Energy, SPEED Energy, UTV Inv, SDR, Hellwig, GBC, Lonestar, KING, Fox, Blue Torch Fab and the list goes on.
 
Wait a minute - an almost stock machine other than suspension and safety items finished and almost won the 500? Don't tell the Can Am guys as they think all the XP1s that race have some special sauce in the motors.

Johnny - I thought your ride was made out of gold :D

No, Curtis Sparks just waved their magic wand over it;) Sparks Racing has been at the top of their game for years in the quad and MX world....When they decided to jump into the RZR game it was a no brainer to use the Local guys. Our 975 in the XP 900 has a ton of race miles on it, a testament to the performance and reliability of their work.
 
im callin BS!!!! that helmet alone had to add atleast 5 hp. not including those special switches on the steering wheel which add atlesat 2 hp per switch:D

Loved going to Pismo and watching their sleeper YFZ450 (I think it was punched out to a 490) demolish the drag bikes.
 
Do the LSR stock replacement arms use uniballs or stock ball joints?
