Anyone pre-running the Baja 1000

We will be down there this weekend and will have a GPS race course download with PCI notes available before the race. You can call us or come see us at contingency to purchase the files.

Have fun and be safe down there everyone!

Hi PCI
On the file that I got from you at contingency for the 500 it was missing the last 45 - 50 miles of the course. This year the in and out wasn't 100% the same and it made coming in at night in the fog a bit tricky. Will you be updating your file with this data (last 40-50 mile of course) before the 1000? This is not a complaint, as I love PCI products and all that you do for the sport, but just an observation and some constructive feedback. :)

The start/finish to Ojos run is not open for prerunning until a few days before the race. SCORE should be releasing the course file any day now. As soon as the first section (start/finish) is open for prerunning we will add that to the file and it will be available at contingency, possibly the day before. Your best bet is to just come check in with us at the trailer and we will make sure you are taken care of!

For those of you heading down to prerun we should have our file ready by mid next week as long as the Baja gods are kind and we have no issues with the prerunner.

Is anyone going to go pre-run the 1000 course? If so when and where?
Yeah, Marc started his over the weekend. His advice..............Do your homework if you are serious about competing. Although the mileage has been trimmed back to around 880, they will not be easy ones! He likes to do most of his running at night, in one of the Mavericks, to reproduce actual race conditions. He spoke of miles of 4-5 foot rollers that even Roger's (Marc and Roger were marking the course) pre-runner couldn't skip over the top of! San Felipe's really gnarly, he says. I'm sure you can follow his efforts on his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Marc-Burnett-MB-Motorsports-Offroad-Racing/138769959531924 (i dont use Fbook, so check for yourselves)
Those who have limited pre-running opportunities can most likely get useful information from there. He usually logs at least twice the race mileage pre-running. Hell, a couple of years back, he logged 5,000 miles pre-running that years 1000 course!
We are pleased to see that class 1900 will have in the vicinity of 20 entrants! The best of the best, I hear. AWESOME! Good luck to all entrants, and we look forward to see you guys and gals there.

Share your pre run reports here guys!! Lots of UTVs going down I am hearing. We can't wait!
