My father was telling me about a motor that the Nissan engineers have developed. Did I hear him correct ? That power to weight is F1 type stuff. Maybe even a bit stronger than an f1 power to weight. Anyone know what Nissan plans for this motor or know anyrhing more about it ? Or even if it's true ? Sounds like the ultimate UTV swap to me....

Nissan has
shocked automotive world introducing
a 400HP engine that weights a scant
40kg (88lbs).
Named the DIG-T R, the 3 cylinder 1.5
liter engine has a power to weight ratio
of 10HP per kilo, besting even high
performance Formula 1 engines.
Carried aboard Nissan’s Zero
Emmision ZEOD the 500mm tall,
400mm long, and 200mm wide (19.68
x 15.74 x 7.78 in) package is one of
the most compact performance
engines every built and follows
Nissan’s new design goal of reducing
size and weight to achieve greater
performance.

Definitely would be a cool motor to swap into a UTV. But since it's a NISMO engine I suspect it could cost as much as the UTV itself.

400hp and prob only 32 ft/lbs of torque. for an engine with that displacement, to pump out that kinda power, it would have to be pushing 40psi of boost.

i cranked out 500hp out of a 2.7L toyota motor but it took a good bit of boost to get it there.

Looking at other articles it appear like it has been out for a couple years. They use the same design in the Juke which is 188 HP and have sport option that bumps it to 212. They don't appear to use the 400 HP version in a production vehicle.
