Per the 2017 rule book Pro Turbo and Pro N/A wheelbase must not exceed 8 inches over stock production. Max width is 77 inches. This was also the rules in the 2016 book too, so the X3 Max would be legal at 134 inches in the Pro Turbo class.

Now what is different is the Unlimited Class. 2016 rule book for the Unlimited UTV class, was a 124 max wheelbase, which could be achived by cutting and adding to the frame. Max width is 80 inches. Now in the 2017 rule book the Unlimited class can now be up to 134 inches, thus allowing the X3 Max to race in the Unlimited class.

So do you think Cory knew the X3 Max was going to be 134, and why he changed that wheelbase rule for the Unlimited class at the start of the 2017 season??

BTW I don't see anyone racing a X3 Max successfully with a 32 inch tire. Just to long of a wheelbase with that small of tire, even with the Tensor "32" which is actually taller then 32. Which is another topic, but an interesting one. As long as the tire is stamped 32 its legal. It could tape measure or roll off measure 33, 34 or 35? And Cory said it would be legal. But a tire marked 33 that measures 32 is not legal.

None of this would matter if the rules stated the car has to be available prior to the start of the season. How many times now have we seen new editions pop up in the middle of the season always in the hands of the factory teams......never Joe Blow racer. The car seems to be legal but it creates the perception of manufactures trying to gain a mid season advantage that many will perceive as unfair. Whether that's actually the case or not remains to be seen.

for the X3 Max to be legal for BITD it would need to shrink 1" stock the car is 135" and the rules clearly say that the max WB for any UTV in any class is 134" I dont care either way as I think its to long to be competitive in BITD
