2016 BITD UTV Rules/Classes

incorrect! Hydraulic bumpstops are NOT legal in production pro so by adding them her car is no longer "legal for production class and must race in Unlimited. This was a mid season reactionary rule that was put in place for no logical reason. I believe it has been removed.

Bill i think you misunderstood me. She was already racing the pro unlimited class and then mid season it was said that her car does not qualify to be "unlimited" as it fits into the pro production class. At that time is when their team added the bumps. If I am not mistaken Lacrecia only raced 1 pro production race then switched to Unlimited.

That is correct. We only raced Parker as production. And yes we were told the car had to be "unlimited" after we won the Mint. So we chose bumps.

So I have a couple questions and they aren't meant to stir up anything.
If you race in one race as one class and then switch, how are you considered when it comes to year end contention for a championship? I ask because of the switching in 2015 and I wonder how it will be for 2016 with zero off season to build a car for another class if someone chose to move to Pro Turbo or build a new Turbo car for the Unlimited class with an aftermarket blowoff and ECU reflash so it could be reliable and fast. Like Bill stated, this is the wise desision for someone that wanted to build a new car and be the legit fastest UTV in BITD overall. I truely believe this is the future of UTV racing for the Joe Shmoe that wants to beat the "big name" teams. Just wondering if I decided to build a new car if it's worth a mid season change or if I should just plan that swap with the season. I mean it is a stretch to dream of a championship but why destroy the dream giving the seed some water after its planted.

Your points stay in the class you race each race in. It's not possible to switch classes and win a points championship. Hence why we are going to race the NA class all season. It's simply not possible for us to get our turbo car done and test time on it before parker. We have no choice to run our NA car. Our plan was to run our NA car in the turbo class for parker but that was shot down by UTVRA.

Casey allowed me to switch from production to unlimited only after the first race. If we had raced again in production he would not have allowed it. And I had to lose the points I had in Parker because it wouldn't have been fair to the guys already racing Unlimited.
