“RYAN BEAT AND CODY RAHDERS DELIVERED THIS WEEKEND PUTTING “BLACK RHINO†ON THE PODIUM SATURDAY AND SUNDAY IN ROUNDS 9 & 10 OF THE LOORRS AT GLEN HELEN RACEWAY IN SAN BERNARDINO!â€
Black Rhino sponsored driver Ryan Beat sweeps Glen Helen in the UTV class but battles mechanical issues all weekend in his ProLite. Bryan Osborn suffered engine failure in the Round 9 UTV class but finishes 4th in Round 10. Cody Rahders finishes 3rd in Round 9 and 2nd in Round 10 of the UTV class.
08/12/11 Alpine, CA- What a weekend it was for the Black Rhino sponsored drivers; racing under the lights at Glen Helen Raceway, 100+ temperatures, mechanical failures! It all came together and in the end the drivers walked away with two 1st, one 2nd and one 3rd place podium finishes.
Ryan Beat, driving the Black Rhino sponsored Hart and Huntington #851 SR1 swept the Series this weekend in the UTV mains. In Saturday’s Round 9, it was the #851 running in first the entire race. On the last lap the #851 suffered mechanical problems but with a commanding lead over the field, Beat was able to nurse it to the finish line holding on to first place. On Sunday, Beat started 5th but had driven up to 2nd by the end of the first lap. By lap two Beat was in 1st, holding that position until lap five when the Black Rhino sponsored #816 of Cody Rahders passed him for the lead. Beat battled the #816 for top position finally taking it on lap nine where he held on until the checkered flag dropped. Beat suffered mechanical issues all weekend in the Black Rhino #51 ProLite. Saturday, he pulled off the track after lap 6 and on Sunday, after starting 12th and moving up to 8th, he was again forced to head back to the pits after lap 7.
Bryan Osborn, driving the Black Rhino #854 SR1, started in 10th position for Round 9 on Saturday. By lap five he had moved up to 8th but suffered an engine failure that took him out of the race. Kenny Osborn was able to hook up with Steve Taylor to get an engine for Sunday’s Round 10. Crew Chief Kenny Frost worked into the early A.M. before “calling it a nightâ€. With the engine being delivered afternoon on Sunday, the team worked feverously to get the #854 ready for Round 10, finishing with 5 minutes to spare. Osborn started in 9th position for Round 10. By lap nine he had moved up to 6th. When the checkered flag flew, Osborn crossed the line in 5th, 4th in his class. Osborn stated, “I can’t thank Steve Taylor enough, that engine is fast. He also hooked me up with some new gauges for the #854. Overall it was a good weekend, I can’t complain.â€
Cody Rahders, driving the Black Rhino sponsored R3 Motorsports/Super Chips #816, was consistent all weekend. He started 4th on Saturday, dropping all the way back to 9th by lap four but was able to move through the pack up to 3rd in lap ten, holding that position to the checkered flag. On Sunday, Rahders was starting from row two, 3rd position. By lap five he had moved up to 1st place. Rahders and Beat battled back and forth with the R3 Motorsports/Super Chips #816 crossing the checkered flag in 2nd place.
