Whiplash at the Phoenix LOORS track this weekend

Lots of entries in the UTV race today. I counted 29 including the china lights, pilots and 2 trophy karts.

5 of the rhinos had streetbike motors, 4 weller SR1 cars and the thrashem GSXR-1000 rhino.

Bronco dan took the early lead, but had a flat tire soon after.

Correy Weller and the Thrashem GSXR were battling for first when she burst into flames on the front straight. Looked like they got it out quick and she got out ok.

The GSXR was out in front alone with a pilot second and Bobby third for a while, then all the sudden here comes Jacob Persons old rhino with a Weller SR1.

The GSXR broke, and Persons old car flew to the front. The pilot stayed in second, and Bobby took third in his new Weller SR1.

Bobby was trying hard, but the rear shocks were not working and half way through the rear sway bar broke. He was wheelieing a long way down the jumps, looked like fun.

Beyond third I couldnt keep track as they get all mixed up after 30 min of racing, but I'm assuming Brandon Simms wrapped up the championship with his strong run.

Another round tomorrow out there. Should be fun.

i am glad you are ok corry. did any one get video of the race or pics thanks for the up date.

I was cold and seem to have w bad attitude lately so I never took thw camera out of the case. Hopefully someone did. I know dgp was there, he usually has pics up a few days after the races.

Hey everyone! Just got back home from Speedworld for the Whiplash race this weekend! We had a TON of fun out there - our SR1 drivers were Me, Bobby V., Tyler Herzog (that's who's racing Person's old Rhino now) and Josh S. (new to racing)

First day, I started in the 2nd row, and after a REALLY messed up start (where the whole first half of the field started racing before the green flag ever flew), I found myself in the top 3 and getting pelted with roost/mud so badly that I ran out of tearoff's on my first lap! Olet and I had a great battle for first for a lot of laps....lap traffic came up quick and it was a matter of picking through the lappers without bumping/running into anyone.

About halfway through the race, my poor, high mileage R1 motor hucked a rod on the front straight and apparently blew out quite the fireball! I was in a perfect spot to pull off and shut it off right away, and I got out just fine with everyone's help and we put out the little bit of remaining fire.

I was bummed, to say the least, but it WAS a $600 motor - lol! Getting another one this week....

Olet pulled off soon after with some rear drive issues, and that left Tyler Herzog in his SR1 in first place, and Bobby in 3rd, fighting some serious suspension issues. Watching the race from the sidelines was fun - the R1's sound awesome when they go by!

Josh did great for his second race ever, and we had a good day!

Today, Tyler and Dan had a good battle going for a while, until Dan pulled off with some battery issues, I think.....leaving Tyler in first with a big lead. In 3rd was Josh, doing battle with a herd of little Pilots, and Bobby was running well in second until both of his rear shocks blew out. Anyone who has blown their shocks knows how sucky THAT is, so Bobby pulled off, leaving Tyler and Josh in first and second.

With only a few minutes to go, Josh pulled into the pits, thinking he might have blown a rear shock....nope, but you never know sometimes until you can check it.

Tyler finished up in first place, making it a 1/1 for the weekend! Congrats to him for some great racing, and that goes for all of our SR1 drivers!! It was great seeing everyone out there - the two day race format was a lot of fun, and the races were a good length! Speedworld is one of my favorite tracks, and it was great to be out there again!

wat happen to the gsxr thrashem car, i like that idea every roundy round guy has that gsxr motor in it. I was wondering if any one was going to try to use that motor. That was a good race at the begining on saturday. You could really tell the 2 cars that had 2 people in it were a bit slower and the ones with one person could haul butt. I dont no wat # he was but he had 2 people in it with a street bike motor and was wheeling down the back side of second jump on the straight away. Now that was power and bad ass.I cant wat to see more street bike utvs showing up to race.

He had some rear drive issues on Saturday, and on Sunday I don't know what happened.....the white car you are talking about was Bobby V. in Brady's old car (SR1 now)....he had Shane with him for that race. Everyone kicked their passengers out for Sunday - lol!
