June 23, 2010 (San Bernardino, CA)â€â€ÂSoCal SuperTrucks and Ricky James are focused on making a statement this upcoming weekend, June 26-27, as they contest rounds 7 and 8 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series at Miller Motorsports Park just outside of Salt Lake City, UT.

To date, the 2010 race season has been filled with bittersweet results as James and the SoCal SuperTrucks SuperLite have continually proved to be the quickest vehicle on the track…posting fastest lap times at each round this season. Unfortunately, the team hasn’t been able to capitalize on their undeniable speed and driving ability due to mechanicals and unavoidable race incidents. The team brought home a 2nd place finish at Round 3 in AZ, but topping the podium with an overall victory still eludes Ricky and the SoCal SuperTrucks crew. They are looking to change that this weekend.

“We have spent a lot of time testing since the last race and the truck should be running at 100% this weekend,†said Ricky James. “I believe the best way to get out of this rut is to go out and win…and win again. That’s my plan this weekend and feel confident based on how testing has gone this past Month.â€ÂÂ

The team will have an extended presence this weekend as Salt Lake City-based sponsor, Rockwell Time, has stepped up as the Primary Sponsor for the SoCal SuperTrucks SuperLite. Rockwell will have their Supercross Semi parked in the paddocks and will be on-hand with music, guest athletes/VIP’s to sign autographs and displaying their extensive line-up of watches.

Ricky was paralyzed from the chest down in a motocross racing accident in March of 2005. SoCal SuperTrucks outfitted the Super Lite race truck with hand controls that allow him to control the throttle, brake, clutch and shifting with his left hand while leaving his right hand free to steer. In 2009, Ricky made his rookie and race debut in the SoCal SuperTrucks SuperLite, capturing 5 out of 6 wins.

The team would like to thank current 2010 team sponsors, which include Bully Dog Technologies, BFGoodrich, Rockwell Time, Forgiven Energy, K&N Filters, Walker Evans, Fox Suspension, Alpinestars and AOKNick.org.
