All UTV's price difference

SilverBulletXP4 Sucka!
ok so i am curious, i was talking with my wife about buying stuff for the rhino and a thought came about

why is rhino stuff priced so much more that automotive stuff?

e.g. my spindles AND complete lift for my colorado was priced at 700. that is CST fabricated spindles, brake line and an add-a-leaf.... yet if i wanted just spindles for a rhino its 800... JUST the spindles!

another example... the tires for my truck were 600 shipped to my door... they are 285/65/16 nitto terra grapplers... good tires!! but most rhino tires are atleast 130 a piece!!! they are not nearly as much rubber as what was put into my truck tire...

i just notice things that seem to cost much more cause its for a UTV and wonder where this comes from...

i just wanted to see other peoples opinions

I have been wondering this also, I have some friends who tell me it because we keep paying the price they keep it jacked up.

Maybe we need the Chinese to start producing tires and stuff cheaper for the UTV's?

It could be just as simple as, Utv parts are not mass produced so they are a more limited supply smaller part runs and need to be more expensive to keep the companies in business.

Great topic Brian!

In my opinion, the higher prices on UTV accessories are due to manufacturing costs. It seems like most of the companys producing UTV parts & accessories are based right here in the United States. And anyone that owns or runs a business in the good old US of A knows that it costs an arm and a leg to keep the doors open these days! Uncle Sam really knows how to milk every red cent out of you!!!

I think as more companys start to move their manufacturing over seas the consumer will see a dramatic drop in prices. But with that comes a drop in quality too. I'd rather pay a little more and know that the parts are being manufactured right here in America, by Americans!!!

Wow, I never knew I was so patriotic!!!:D

Supply and demand. Our market is too small, therefore manufacturing batch sizes are small, driving the cost up.

This company makes parts for trucks and UTV so why such a difference in price? It can't be to keep the doors open, if it is then why are the truck parts so much cheeper?

I like the feedback i am getting on this topic. I can definately see the quality portion of it. I would rather pay more to have a better quality product built in the US.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, and if anyone else has more thought on it... speak up!!! this is interesting

It's a very simple question to research. Walk in to any machine shop and ask to them to produce a part. Get a price for 1, 1000, 100,000. That will give you a clue why these parts are more.

For example, we just got bids to do a wire harness for a new part. To make 1: $57.22 each. To make 100: $15.63.

And here's one of the problems with going Chinese (I'll leave out the part about sending jobs and our $$ over there). In general you need to do runs of thousands of parts. It's tough for most businesses to put thousands of parts on the shelf. And when you go there, there generally are no returns for defective merhandise. If you have to replace it to your customer, you throw the old one away. So that means you have to price the stuff high enough that you can afford to throw a good number of whatever it is away.

It's all a numbers game.

looks like we need more utv owners to buy parts more frequently that way they can produce more for cheaper right?

im hitting up all my friends and family to buy UTVs and start mod'n them ASAP!!!

you guys brought light to alot of my thoughts, thanks a bunch

So what your saying is if they made good parts the prices would go down. Maybe they should be made in China. We would have just as good a chance of getting good parts, and the prices would be a lot better. Why should we pay a American worker 100 times more and still get crap?
