PCI THE “OFFICIAL RACE RADIO”
WILL COVER AVE/BAJA PROMOTIONS
FOR YET ANOTHER FULL SEASON
California City, CA – January 8, 2016 – Lou Peralta, head of AVE/BP announced today that PCI Race Radios will once again be the “Official Radio Communications” Company for the entire 2016 season, including the PURE UTV Series, the SuperCourse Series and the newest events in the AVE/BP’s schedule, the “Drone GP Series.”
PCI has long been a sponsor and supporter of AVE’s and BP’s racing event since the organization started back in 1986. One of the first calls Lou Peralta made on behalf of Baja Promotions was to the then fairly unknown, Bob Steinberger the “Weatherman.” Bob took on the challenge and for a number of years was the voice over the radio for all of Baja Promotions events, then in SCORE and HDRA, plus others.
Today, no major off-road event takes place without the “Weatherman” being there to assist not only the organization itself but every single racer, whether that race team is using PCI communication products or not. You do not run a race without the “Weatherman” being on-air helping control the entire organized mayhem. Bob has been know to stay up twenty-four hours plus during one of the long races, making sure everyone is accounted for before hitting the sack. Today he still manages to make most races and has developed excellent assistants to handle races communications.
Peralta commented; “I don’t think I’ve ever put on an event without PCI being involved in some way. Even when we started the Off-Shore Series for personal watercrafts, The Weatherman was there several times to help, especially the first two Long Beach-2-Catalina & Back Off-Shore races, we’ve always used his equipment.”
PCI will post the following Contingency plan for the 2016 PURE UTV OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES:

The 2016 PURE UTV OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES consists of six events, from which the top five finishers in points by race are used to compete for the Overall and Class Championships. All races will be in Southern California, primarily in California City, CA at the Alta Vista Ranch. Although we have been informed that there may be a mid-year surprise of a different race location. Nothing official as yet.
Dates for the PURE UTV Series are as follows: PURE #1 – January 23; PURE #2 – March 19; PURE #3 – April 23; PURE #4 –Jjuly 16 (night race); PURE #5 – September 10; and PURE #6 – October 22 (a double points race).

- pay 1st Place only in ALL Classes
- $50 credit towards and PCI retail product r service
- Racer must use PCI decals on both sides of vehicle, in a visible location
- Racer cannot run competitor’s decals (Rigged, Parker Pum per, etc.)
- Racer must register ith Sanctioning body’s Tech/Contingency
- Must meet all requirements
