Man do we have a great course for you. You are going to get dizzy by the time you finish the first of eight laps of the PURE "275". Each lap consists of 34.60 miles and you had better pay attention. It's got EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink, and it may have some of that as well. Long sand washes, nasty whoops and silt beds, fast, two-rails into rocky areas, a couple of hills here and there to slow people down, a couple of nasty, slow, ugly canyons, and "THE DOWNHILL" to perk up your spirits.

And it should be a "toughie" race since we are paying "double points" for the event.
This event will crown the Champions in Class as well as Overall Points Champs.

It all comes down to this baby and you're going to love it!!!

By the way, the furthest point on the course from the start/finish is only 5.24 miles. So your pit crew will have plenty of time to see you blast across at several different places. We will have access roads to various viewing points of the course for easy access. They will be listed as such for the event.

And, since the race is scheduled to start on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. October 18, Friday day & night will be the big day, to pre-run, check in, late register, get tech'ed and get ready for the early morning meeting and staging.

All entries wishing to be in the drawing for starting positions must be in by Thursday, October 16, at 6 p.m.
We will draw at 7 p.m. and try to send the course map and "kml" file that night.

Schedule:
Friday pre-run: From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Friday Check-in & Register 6 p.m until 9 p.m.
Awards for the PURE "225" 9 p.m. with a few surprises

Saturday "Late" Registration: 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Driver's mandatory meeting: 8 a.m.
Staging by Class 8:15 a.m.
Start 9 a.m.

First vehicle to complete 8 laps, the Checkered flag comes out and everyone must finish their lap.

Portions of the Schedule may change so stay tuned.
But let me tell you, this is going to be one of the most fun courses you've used all year long.

Go to: www.averacing.com for more details as they develop.

Re: !@!@!@ Official Thread for the PURE "275" BANG-BANG-SHOT'M UP TOUGHIE - DBL.DBL P

CALIFORNIA CITY, CA - AUGUST 21 - NEWS -

OK. Last night at 6 p.m. the results became official, Contingency Declaration sheets and Pro paybacks went out this morning FOR THE PURE "225."

Now it’s time to start thinking about one of the best courses/events we have put on in a long time. This means that we are pulling all the stops to make the PURE “275†– A double-Points race, a memorable one.

The course is laid out within a radius of 5 miles (that being the longest section to get to from the Main pits), which will make it easily accessible for crews and spectators alike to watch the action.

We will designate certain areas of the course where you can easily view the event. However, we are NOT endorsing for anyone to roam all around the course. That is a NO, No!

Moreover, you can well anticipate that this PURE “275†will not have long wide-open sections. Instead, there will be many rights and lefts and canyons, and sand washes, and whooped out sections and of course our famous Cal-City rocks-hound triangle to negotiate.

This is NOT for public consumption, yet, because we wish to keep people out and off of it, but to those of you who are planning on racing, and sign up early we will send you a preliminary map of one of the most outstanding courses we've ever put together. It's got everything you want on a course but in short spurts. "Baja in a Shopping Bag," I call it. EVERYTHING you need to experience in a long-distance off-road race is in one tidy package--The PURE "275".

For those of you who wish to try our event for the first time, you will find that you are not going to be away from the main pits too far so that your pit crew can have easy access.

For those of you going for the gold ring (not brass), driving skills, well-prepped cars, good navigators and patience will be of great assets to you.

The course will be marked only days before the event, which is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Saturday morning (Oct 18).

Laps are 34.2-plus miles long and 8 laps will consist as finishing the race.

However, once the first driver finishes all eight (8) laps everyone else finishes their laps.

All registration, Check-in, Tech will take place on FRIDAY NIGHT FROM 6 P.M UNTIL 9 P.M. at the start/finish.

In order to get early sign-ups to see just who will be racing, we want to know who is coming and just how much time we will need between starting positions (we are contemplating 60-second intervals between starting racers, instead of 30 seconds). To encourage you to sign up early by the deadline below, we will offer you TWO “2†FREE T-SHIRTS WITH YOUR ENTRY! But you must get your entry in no later than SEPTEMBER 15, 2014.

We figured that with an average of 30-35 entries, one minute apart, it would take around 35 minutes to start everyone.

We anticipate each lap will take about 47.38673 minutes to complete by the “fast guys.†Just kidding.
We think between 45 to 55 minutes to complete a lap. However, we are still holding on to the concept to start every vehicle at 30-second intervals.

Friday night (Oct 17) at 9 p.m. we will draw for starting positions by Class.

Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. we will have the Mandatory Drivers/Navigators Meeting

Saturday 8:15 a.m., “Staging†begins

Saturday 8:30 a.m. “Staging†is finalized. Everyone who has not staged by that time, will be put to the rear of the starting line but your time will remain the same.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. first vehicle leaves the line.

Saturday 4 p.m. – THE “PURE HOT DOG FEAST†begins. If anyone cares to contribute towards the “Feast†let us know. Food, snacks, soft drinks, water will be served. Bring your own “special†drinks if you would like but you must stay on private property and NO, you can’t show off to your girlfriend how fast you drove during the race after you've consumed a few “spirits.â€

Hope to see many of you for this final “double-points†event of the season October 17-18 at the AVE Ranch.

The new 2015 PURE UTV OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES scheduled will be out by then.

Re: !@!@!@ Official Thread for the PURE "275" BANG-BANG-SHOT'M UP TOUGHIE - DBL.DBL P

Dear Racers and Friends:

Well, we have outdone ourselves--worthy of a “Double Points†paying event--and the one final events of the year that is sure to crown class champions.
We have laid out an epic race course for the PURE “275†– OCT 17-18, 2014 that has everything you’d want in an off-road course but in short spurts. Perfect for the PROS, who are vying for the purse and the points, and excellent for the Sportsman who are just getting their feet wet into off-road racing, PURE UTV style.

We are also delighted to have a few new racers, some, from as far away as Texas and New Mexico, giving it their first attempt with us. Racers such as: Kenneth Brown from Rio Rancho, New Mexico will be making his debut in the Sportsman 850 Class; while Robert Villareal II, and dad Scott Villareal, from Austin, Texas will be testing the waters in the Sportsman BONE STOCK 1000 Class. We also have racers from Arizona, Nevada and of course Southern California, and as a result of our recent visit to Baja California, we are now trying to help two racers from Ensenada get their cars and themselves across the border to race with us. They will be competing in the PRO 1000 Class.

This event will crown Class and Points champions and also determine the winner of the Evan Dieterich Insurance-sponsored 1K-KUP.

We also invite everyone to stay around after Saturday’s race, as AVE/Baja Promotions will be hosting a “Thank you†event, with finger-food and drinks for everyone.

If you haven’t sent your entry in, make sure to do so no later than Thursday, October 16, at 6 p.m. to be included in the drawing by Class for starting positions.
Attached is the entry form and flyer.

We are also including our “tentative†2015 race schedule so that you can start making plans. We have a great series in the making that is sure to bring in twice the amount of racers we now have in all categories. Ladies and gentlemen, we are going International. More details soon.

We look forward to seeing many of you.

We'll be there vending and offering free tech support, so stop by and say hello!

Re: !@!@!@ Official Thread for the PURE "275" BANG-BANG-SHOT'M UP TOUGHIE - DBL.DBL P

Quick note: the final race of the 2014 season is in the books and it was a "tuffy" to say the least. But it had to be since it paid double points and decided several championships.
Unofficially, Cain Smead finished first Overall and first in the Pro 1000 Class.
Results will be out later today and they become official ten days after posted and after all checkpoints are checked.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2014 Pure Series, now we look forward to 2015 as the series expands internationally with two events, of the six-event series, in Baja.

Re: !@!@!@ Official Thread for the PURE "275" BANG-BANG-SHOT'M UP TOUGHIE - DBL.DBL P

Unofficial results and points are posted on www.averacing.com as are photos from the PURE "275" that depict a tough racing weekend, especially for those who were going after the Overall and Points Championships.
As one racer put it at the finish line, "you made it tough enough to earn the double points."

While the course was laid out within a five-mile radius it had "toughy" sections that challenged driving skills and the worthiness of the treads below the car. Lots of flats for some and a number of ways to test the driver skills.
We're going over checkpoint data and results become official Oct 30.

On behalf of Lois and me and the entire AVE Staff we would like to thank everyone who participated and we look forward to seeing many of you returning in 2015 for a brand new series. Keep checking our website for updates..

In the meantime there is still one final race before the end of the year, the SECOND ANNUAL CAL-CITY GRAN PRIX, Dec 27-28, 2014. Race day is Saturday and there will be a separate class for UTVS, in addition to classes for MCs and ATVs. All information can be found on our webpage: www.averacing.com
