After arriving at the free camping provided by AVE and paying the $55 entry, I preran the corse in my wifes RZR with SGMchase in his XP. The corse started off a little rough, then up and down some nice hills with great views, then back down to a few miles of very fast sections with just enought turns, trees, road crossings and a sand wash to keep your attention, then a few big hills, some more fast areas and then some technical stuff. The corse was perfect for UTVs easy enough for someone who just wanted to go out and have fun or for the serious racers to shread!
The race was alot of fun, even thou most of us had probelms, several flats, blwon shocks, blown belt, my muffler fell off to be quickly ran over my my buddy driving Kyle Melvilles WORCS RZR, who then blew his rear diff., but everyone got enough laps in to be considered finishers
This was my sons first race, I drove the first half giving some pointers along the way, then we switched driving rolls during a fuel stop which was a timely matter, expecially when he ran to the motorhome to take a piss?
With almost no expereance driving a UTV the first few mile were like Miter Toads Wild Ride, he hit every tree, spun the car out on every tight turn and lawn darted the front a few times on big bumps, but then a light clicked on and he drove great the rest of the race.
All in all this was alot of fun, great corse, $55 fee, free camping, $10 event shirts and a great AVE staff! I strongly encourage anyone considering racing to make one of these races!
