Some advice for UTV racers:

Ok so some of you last year felt like the side show, and I will admit, I didn't see a whole lot of attention being showed our way as the race concluded. So this year we need to change this. Best way to do this is to make yourself known and seen. So instead of just heading back to you pit/camp once the race is over why doesn't everyone go into the center of Hammertown where this LIVE stream is being conducted. I was told that the LIVE stream will not have a host wandering around so if you want to get on the tube and thank your sponsors, tell your story, and be famous then you need to go up to the host/announcers/stream section and get an interview!! Don't be shy, be aggressive! Its one of the ways we can change perception from side show to exciting event!

Yeah. There was no "reception" for us last year. I headed into town after taking the checkered for third, and there wasnt anyone hanging out. Mitch and Jagged headed back to their camps after finishing. Then the two HCR cars rolled in and hung out for awhile.

Lets take JD's advice here and party at Hammer Town after the race. Have a friend meet you at the finish line with your coolers! I had to head back to camp for a beer! lol

Is our tech/contingency going to be downtown, or on the outskirts in Outcastville?:D

Rob

Lol! I find it odd that we're still outcasts in offroad racing, but I seriously dont give a shit. UTV racing is awesome, and we know how to party!

Looking forward to meeting the "Outcast"! We have been out in 09' and 10' but it was for the big race on friday! This year we thought it would be a blast to participate in utv race. I feel that given a few more years, utvs will be a big show, based on the fact more people can afford them, and do minimal mods to compete in a production class. PS I'll bring some spring water, we can drink after the race!!!

Let me chime in here. There is so much going on at KOH that you literally have to fight your way into the media circus. The UTV tech will be right in the middle of the action this year.

My best advice. KOH has a long standing tradition of the winner greeting every single racer who crosses the line. Its the coolest part of the whole race. Thats how a party starts at the finish line. Follow that lead, and good things will come. UTV racers don't need to stage a sit in, but with this years lay out and a hot finish, you guys have a great chance to make a show.

Good Luck, I will see you out there.

One of my favorite things that happens at the Ultra4 races! If we make it to the checks, you can bet we will stick around for everyone else to make it and congratulate them!!

Leaving in 36 hours!!!!

checking in from the lakebed...

It's awesome to see so many UTVs runing around hammer town! The UTVs won't be a side show after this year everyone has taken notice of how many are already out here. This is going to be an awesome race and there are quite a few teams putting up a serious effort prerunning and getting ready for this years race. I can't wait to see how it will all shake out on race day!

I watched it online and it looked like Guthrie took the Win....I also think I saw Crowley got 4th overall, not sure about his place in class.

This what I just got off the live chat.
