Retired - And Still UTVUNderground Approved!!!!
Theres only one guy here that races Drive. While its a bummer they cancelled Im relieved. With LOORRS the following weekend I was beginning to stress a little, this gives the boys & I more time to prep the mighty Class 11 car.

December 4, 2010 DRIVE Race
After many discussions DRIVE has made the difficult decision to cancel the December 4th race due to a low number of pre-entries. Low number of entries has not stopped DRIVE from putting on a race in the past but they are looking at the long term future of the series. The series has decided to put a significant amount of money and effort into marketing the 2011 season rather than putting it into a race with small entries. The new marketing effort will include a contracted Marketing Manager, print and web ads, as well as video.
“This was an extremely difficult decision for us to make. In the last two years we have developed an incredibly loyal group of racers, volunteers, and sponsors that would show up to any of our races regardless of the number of entries. I hope that they all know how much we appreciate them and that we made the decision for the future of the series they have worked so hard to support. In the next few weeks you will start to see and hear a lot more advertising from us in regards to the 2011 season. Our January 22nd permit application has been submitted to BLM and we plan to push on into 2011. Canceling a race is the last thing I would ever want to do but it will not affect our standing with the BLM and will allow us to come back strong in Januaryâ€
- Doug Wasser, President DRIVE Off Road Racing
Along with increased marketing DRIVE will be revamping their entire contingency program from top to bottom. Their goal is to increase benefit to both the contingency sponsors as well as the racers. Expect to see a lot of positive changes in the program.
DRIVE would like to thank all their sponsors for the continued support of the series and their support of this decision.
