There is a rule that says that you have to have a 'fire-wall' that goes from the floor to the roof between the drivers compartment and the engine/fuel-cell. It makes for some interesting scoops!

Yup, we looked into making our current XP4900 meet the FIA rules for a guy in Qatar....It was quite a way from the FIA specs. Firewall, Full fenders in the rear, ECT
They reinstated the 22 km that they took out earlier for todays stage. No clue what the issue was. Rain, heat, ??
The fender rule is typically taken care of by running stock width and fender flaps off of the front and rear tires. Not that big of deal.
Rito, I would guess that someone will eventually try to run with a full windshield, but from what I have found out it will likely have to be glass not lexan due to static electricity and scratching. But it was 105 deg F on Sunday's stage 1, and I can't imagine how hot you would get with no air flow. Maybe you would need a Parker Pumper for your fire suit like an astronaut. Well actually I do know from my NORRA truck
"Robby Gordon has finished stage 3 of the 2014 Dakar Rally. Gordon currently sits in 6th place, 7m2 seconds behind leader Nani Roma. A great recovery from the previous 2 stages!"
