California Green and Red stickers?

Was wondering if anybody had any experience when building a UTV like a SR1 if they received a Green or Red sticker in California. Would not be starting with a rhino chassis or vehicle. Are UTV even subject to red stickers or do red stickers only apply to dirt bikes and ATV's? Thanks in advance for any help.

all two stroke bikes and four stroke bikes that are for MX and don't meet EPA emissions are usually red sticker. never heard of a red stickered UTV. as for a sr1 build if it is titled under a rhino or other UTV it will stickered per that vehicle as for a custom build who knows. if you did it right and registered it as a kit or special construction vehicle it can be registered street legal.

My SR1 is still registered as a Rhino 660. Green stickered.

If you not starting with a rhino frame (that is already VIN stamped and titled), you'll have to get a special construction title. Don't know if you'll be able to get a green sticker. That requires EPA compliance.
