04/30/13 El Cajon, CA â€“ Round 5 of WORCS was held at the Honolulu Hills MX Park in Taft, CA this last weekend.

This past weekend was a stressful one to say the least. First, the car was in the shop since the last race in April. It was supposed to be ready on Thursday; Friday the latest. However, that didn't happen and we had to miss practice. We picked up the Razor at 12:30 from the shop and it was a race in itself to get to Taft for the race which was a little over two hours. Still having to change the tires and a rear boot, we were scrambling to pull it all together. Thank you to one of Speedy's fellow racerâ€™s Dad, Mitch Guthrie, for his help. As Speedy drove through the pits he noticed he couldnâ€™t make left turns but there was no time to look it over. He had to get to tech and onto the starting line.

Speedy got a great second position, lost it in a turn and then was able to quickly take it back after a jump. Laps 1 and 2 he was in second with a decent lead. 3rd lap comes around and Speedy starts to get heat exhaustion and gets sick. In 98 degree weather being sick and having trouble making left turns he lost his second position and dropped back into fifth. He pushed on and finished his race. Dad quickly cooled him down and after about an hour he was feeling much better and we loaded up to go home. Speedy still holds his 2nd position in Championship points.

After being forced to sit out Round 4 of the series due to an injury sustained in a crash while racing his ProLite, Cody Rahders and his Polaris RZR570 finished 2nd place at Round 5 of WORCS in the Production 700 class at Taft, CA.

When the race started, Cody and the RZR570 started in row two of the combined Production 700/850 classes and rounded the first turn in second place but was quickly leading by turn two and began to open up a sizable gap on the field when a competitor in the 850 class he was working his way through rolled in front of him delaying his progress.

As he tried to work his way past the wreck Cody was hit from both the front and the rear, â€œThe guy directly in front of me backed full throttle in the front of my car pushing me backwards into the path of someone else that hit me full speed in the rear, it was a super hard hit for sure.â€

After waiting for the class and the two cars from the incident to clear the wreck Cody found himself in second to last place and went to work on the field with a very bent car.

By the end of lap one he had moved into 2nd in the Production 700 class and 7th overall of Production 700/850 combined and by lap two he maintained 2nd place in class and moved into 5th and by races end.

â€œI kept pushing to try and make time on the (class) leader but my car felt like it was driving sidewaysâ€ said Cody, â€œAfter the race we found my right rear tire was bent in over to the right 5 inches making my car crab while I was driving it. I knew I got hit pretty hard but wow it was bent, we could hardly get it in the truck after that.â€
