CALIFORNIA CITY, CA – JAN 4, 2013 -- We waited as long as we could to make the announcement because we knew that there were still a few organizations that had not solidified their dates, but I'm afraid if we wait much longer, we will have to shift our dates too much. Whoever posted the 2013 dates for the established organizations, thank you, because it made it clear for us as to where we can fit in and with the exception of one date that we moved (so that it did not conflicted with other established dates), all our events are on “off†weekends. Whew!

Our dates are:
April 19-21
June 21-23
August 2-4
September 27-29
October 25-27

The 2013 PURE SIDE-X-SIDE OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES is a 5-event series starting APRIL 19-21 (see flyer, entry & course maps attached) strictly for all SIDE-X-SIDE/UTV CLASSES.
Moreover, it is basically a night series, although we'll start in daylight for at least one lap. We did this in order to be unique and for safety reasons. All events will be in Cal-City, the only city to welcome OHVers with open arms, starting and finishing at our Alta Vista Ranch (138th & Proctor) and each of the five races will feature five exclusive and distinctive courses; from 50-mile, 60-mile, 75-mile and 100-mile laps.
We are also introducing a “BONE STOCK CLASS†for those who have just bought a unit and want to try racing. This class is basically a show-room class, except that safety equipment must be added. It is also strictly for SPORTSMEN (no Pros).
All our other classes should fit just about every type of SIDE-X-SIDE or UTV currently out and racers will have the options to sign up as Pros with a 58% payback (highest in the sport) or sign up as Sportsmen. Pro entry fee is $350.00 with $200.00 going back to the Pro Purse and the Sportsman entry is only $150.00 (no payback). IRC tracking unit is extra.
Currently, we are refining our rules so that if any SIDE-X-SIDE is racing with other organizations as well, they will not have to do anything different to race with AVE.
You can obtain more details by going to: www.averacing.com or contacting us at info@averacing.com or call 760.373.8227.

REMEMBER: PURE SIDE-X-SIDE “200†#1 IS SET FOR APRIL 19-21, 2013

Looking forward to another season in Cal City. Thanks Lou for putting on these races.

You betcha! Thanks for supporting us and you are going to be pleasantly surprised at the racing this year.

We already have at least ten "Bone Stock" guys who say they are going to race. Two of them are good friends who went out and used us as an excuse to buy themselves (and their family of course, [hehehe]) brand new four-seat and two seat, "for Christmas and the kids" (so they say), who are chomping at the bit. I get calls from them every day!

I think the Pro Classes are going to be excellent as well, based on the number of calls and people we've received. Hey, when you can make $200.00 out of every entry in the PRO purse, that's worth racing.

$$$$

This series is going to be a lot of fun to run!

Hopefully I will be out there chasing for a buddy at first then joining in with my commander when its tuned in. Fun stuff right here.

A little more information on the Bone Stock Classes as we have received a number of inquiries:

While we are working on the rules, I can pretty much tell you that the "BONE STOCK CLASS" or "Showroom Stock) is exactly that.NO MODIFICATIONS OR CHANGES!

We do anticipate allowing extra lights for the night portions of the race as well as the required "amber" light in the rear, stop and running lights, but that's basically it! However, we will be using each factory's description(s) of their particular stock models as guidelines.

Safety-wise, yes, you'll need some type of full netting, 5-point harness, arms retraints, fire extinguisher, rations and water, complete personal safety gear, and for your first event, if you do not have doors or half-doors, we will let you participate for one race. We have several sponsors who'll have killer deals on those.

However, the spirit of the Bone Stock Class (either 800cc and under or 801cc Plus) both Sportsman only classes, will remain stock with just a few safety modifications and lightning. That's it.

Once you're in and you like racing, then you can start moving up in classes and ready to open up your pocket book! Hahaha!

Hope this helps.

We expect later this week to receive suggestions and input from ISA (International Side-x-Side Association), as we are planning on running their rules-plus.

LUCHO

UPDATE:

We have been working on details, classes and the rule book but it looks like the 2013 PURE SIDE-X-SIDE OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES will be an ISA-Sanctioned Series for 2013. All competitors must belong to the ISA (Ave does not have a membership for this year), and we'll be using their set of rules to complement with our racing program and classes. These will be posted shortly on the www.averacing.com site.

We will also have the more convenient-sized rule booklet that you can purchase to carry with you or stick in your toolbox. See attachment. More on this later.

The first event is April 19-21, 2013 "200" - Four (4) 50-MILE LAPS!

I am hoping your series does well! We had so much fun racing 2 years ago with you. We will try to make it out to one of the night races this summer, maybe let the boys drive this time :)

Lou are you going to use a draw system for start order ? Or is it the same first come first in line again. ?

We have a scheduled drawing for this first event at Noon, Saturday, April 20, for a 4 p.m. start.
Our goal would be to have a sponsored BBQ the week before at the start/finish and offer a day of pre-running and culminating with the drawing. We have several companies who have expressed an interest in doing so and helping out.
Right now, however, we have the plan listed above. Noon, Apr 20, S/F

Lou lays out fun courses, these are fun races and great environment for any racer

And wait until you see who is coming with us...Great racers and also great sponsors. Stay tuned for news shortly.
Also our Rule Book will be published as a booklet and available shortly as well. We got the go-ahead from the ISA. Just need written confirmation.

See you soon.

Its not like rock crawlin rocks, but small sharp beds of rock, bajacross work purdy good out there, anything like an 8 ply with lots of lug coverage protecting the tire carcus

Ok great ya I am running bajacroas tires...

For those of you who have raced with us before, know this but perhaps for those of you who have not, let me tell you, we have just about every type of terrain in our 208 square miles of desert that you can imagine. From sand washes, rocky hills and hard-pack terrain, to sand, whoops (lots), silt, fast graded roads and some hills that will make your "asteroid" pucker. But we never overuse anyone of these types of terrain. We always try to sprinkle dibs and dabs of every type of terrain in one of our courses. We want to challenge racers but not destroy their equipment. We want you to think but not be overwhelmed. And most importantly, we want you to be tired, spent, having had a great workout but still be able to smile at the end. It's not easy but that's what we strive for.

I think in this 50-mile course (The PURE 200- APRIL 19-21) you will have a little bit of everything, including a couple of hills that you're going to love.
Anyone wishing to get a look at the proposed course before hand, e-mail us and we'll send you the Google Earth "kml" file so that you can take the "Virtual Tour."
Please send request to: lois@averacing.com or lou@averacing.com
Also go to www.averacing.com for more details and an update.

STAY TUNED FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
ENTRY OPENS: March 11
DRAWING FOR STARTING POSITIONS: April 6
PURE 200 COURSE EXCURSION: Noon, April 6 after "Drawing" and followed by a BBQ.

See you soon...
