Advice on UTV for racing SCORE

name is Rusty Batza, I’ve raced the 500 and 1000 the last 2 years in Sportsman Quad, am looking to get a cage around me and thinking strongly of a UTV. I’m looking for any advice on what to get. The new Rzr looks awesome but I’m a little concerned about it being a first year model and some of the problems I’ve heard about. The Can-Am has been doing well; I like that Cory did so well at the 500 in a mostly stock car. I don’t know much of anything about any of the other brands.ffice:office" />
Things to consider: I’m 6’5” so want as much room as possible. I’m a decent mechanic but not a gearhead; I really want to do only modifications necessary for safety and to get the car to stay together and make it to the finish. I’m not rich; one of the appeals of the Maverick over the Rzr is that I’d have more money left for seats, cage, lights, etc.
I would appreciate your sharing your knowledge so that I can make a more informed decision!

Race the PURE "250" (Sep 27-29) and then in October the PURE "400" which should give you 650 miles. That's 300 miles less than the 1000, but you'll know if you can make it. And we only charge $350 for Pros with $200 going back to the purse and only $150 for Sportsman.
It's a hell of a deal to see if your UTe can make that kind of mileage before spending over $3,000.00 on just your Baja 1000 entry.

A fat pile of cash for one is a good start More like a truck load . Then a bullet proof Utv for two . Then one hell of a pit crew for three .. A smart driver that can keep the car together the whole race. :D
