Totally agree!! I think we should focus on keeping Johnson Valley around!!!!
And yeah...wife complaining is pretty sad. And I didn't label you anything...I was talking in general...there were a lot of Desert only rigs. Don't take it personal...I have no clue how your rig was set up.
And...
ISA rules are a good thing!!! They are little daunting at first...but after you read them 100 times...you've got it down. :)
I was actually planning on writing a How to race KOH for the first time racer...to help people out. The first time can be very overwhelming.
I have no idea how your rig was setup....so not at all. I was talking in general...and what I saw. 30+ years of rock crawling experience, so I can point out a weak link from a buggy to a RZR. Doesn't mean you still won't break something...but the weak link will be the item first to go...
It's a race, where rocks are the star attraction! Thousands of people don't crowd the whoops at mile 20....They go to Backdoor or Chocolate Thunder...etc.
Last year...was woefully inadequate to rocks...and Dave thankfully fix it. The desert guys, got a rude awakening by Aftershock. When I...
I agree with Chris for the most part....
EMC and UTV have to run together, for maximum exposure for UTV's.
If you took this year's race....sent UTV first to Lap 2 at 7am....and sent EMC at 8am to Lap 1. I seriously doubt there would have been much co-mingling....and the spectators would...
You're preaching to the wrong guy. I'm all for natural selection, as long as kids aren't put in harms way over stupid parents. Unfortunately kids are the usual riders in custom seats. Not saying that all customizations are bad...some are done very well in fact...but that's not consistent...
I'd be curious to see if ANYONE ran FS at King Of The Hammers...I know many rigs, ran Factory UTV UHMW skids....the 2nd place overall (jon) and myself in 4th...both had them.
There's no way FS would survive KOH, especially with the mounting hardware exposed. The Hammers would just rip that...
Hate to break it to you...but California is just the testing ground. The law wasn't written by any politician...it was written by http://www.rohva.org/ and if you look who pays their bills....it's

So guess what...
This was the specific reason for the bill....The manufacturers do not want people modifying vehicles and changing the center of gravity, by modifying the vehicle to add seats where the frame was not designed to hold weight.
This was their #1 goal.....to end this practice. I feel your pain...
That was the move. I had never raced before, ever...so I was worried about penalties all day long....like in Aftershock....I had no idea if I would get DQ'd for it or time added..I really didn't want to rock the boat. Now I know better.
Without a doubt, Paulywood, Todd Stephenson, Dave Eulberg and myself would have finished, without the EMC cars. All of us were running, and doing fine when time expired.
Paul and I were about 21 miles from the finish, when time expired. The others were between 23 and 26....based on where I...
